Abstract

De Quervain Syndrome is a condition that frequently affects the thumb. This syndrome is characterized by pain on the lateral side of the wrist due to inflammation of the tendon sheath that controls thumb movement. The tendons primarily involved are the abductor pollicis longus (APL) and extensor pollicis brevis (EPB). The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of using Ultrasound therapy and the Hold Relax method in reducing pain in patients with De Quervain Syndrome. The research was conducted in February 2025, involving one patient with this condition. Data were collected through anamnesis, physical examination, intervention, and evaluation. The results of the study indicated a reduction in pain levels, a decrease in muscle spasms, and an improvement in functional activity after three therapy sessions utilizing a combination of ultrasound and the hold relax technique. Ultrasound and hold relax can reduce pain in cases of de quervain syndrome.
