Abstract
Background:Resistance Resistance training stimulates progressive muscle growth, which not only increases muscle size but also enhances the muscle’s ability to generate strength. As individuals age, there is a significant decline in muscle mass; therefore, maximizing lower extremity muscle strength is considered essential in improving one’s quality of life. Several studies have shown that resistance training using a bodybuilding approach is more effective in increasing muscle mass..Method: This study is a case report involving a male client who underwent a resistance training program using a bodybuilding approach. The intervention aimed to improve muscle mass and promote muscle hypertrophy. The intervention was conducted over six sessions. Muscle mass was measured using Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA), muscle strength was assessed using the One Repetition Maximum (1RM) test, and lower extremity circumference was measured using midline anthropometry.. Results After six resistance training sessions using a bodybuilding approach, there was a notable increase in muscle mass and hypertrophy. Improvements were confirmed by BIA, 1RM strength testing, and midline anthropometric measurements of the lower extremities.. Conclusion: Resistance training with a bodybuilding approach proved to be highly beneficial in addressing the client’s condition, particularly in increasing lower extremity muscle mass and strength.
