Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) continues to be a major public health concern in Indonesia, particularly due to low treatment adherence among patients undergoing the standard six-month regimen. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between treatment adherence and several influencing factors, categorized into predisposing (age, gender, education level, occupation, and economic status), enabling (distance to health facilities, treatment category, drug side effects), and reinforcing factors (family support). A cross-sectional design was applied, involving 49 respondents at the Cinere Health Center. Patient adherence to anti-tuberculosis medication served as the dependent variable. Statistical analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test and Fisher’s Exact test as needed. The results showed no significant associations between adherence and any of the investigated variables: age (p=0.612), gender (p=0.625), education (p=1.000), occupation (p=0.314), economic status (p=0.522), distance (p=1.000), treatment category (p=0.297), drug side effects (p=0.560), and family support (p=1.000). These findings suggest that none of the assessed factors had a meaningful impact on treatment adherence among TB patients in this setting.
