Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of renewable energy transition and opeRational efficiency to the financial performance of manufacturing companies, comparing firms in Indonesia with global counterparts. The research employed Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with a Multi-group Path Analysis technique to evaluate the mediating role of operational efficiency in the relationship between sustainability practices and financial performance indicators. The findings reveal that, within Indonesian manufacturing firms, operational efficiency significantly mediates the impact of energy transition on financial performance. Conversely, in global companies, this mediating effect is not significant, suggesting that sustainability practices are already integrated into their operations. These results underscore the importance of tailoring sustainability strategies to the Structural and institutional contexts of each firm. The study contributes theoretically within the frameworks of Sustainability Transition Theory and Stakeholder Theory, and offers practical implications for policymakers and corporate management in formulating effective and context-specific sustainability strategies. Keywords: Financial Performance; Manufacture Industry; Renewable Energy
