Abstract

The reliance on information technology brings new challenges to information security, including cyberattacks, weak access controls, and data breaches. However, awareness of the importance of risk management remains low among higher education institutions, including Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ). This study aims to analyze and evaluate information security risk management at the Academic Support Unit for Information and Communication Technology (UPA TIK) of UPNVJ using the NIST SP 800-30 standard. The research employed a qualitative method through observations and interviews. The findings identified 16 risks, including 8 categorized as very high, 5 as high, and 3 as moderate, impacting assets such as information systems, databases, websites, and network devices. These findings are expected to provide a foundation for strengthening information security policies and IT governance at UPNVJ.
