Abstract
The rapid advancement of technology has significantly influenced various sectors, particularly the business domain. Digitalization has facilitated the transformation of business processes, including the adoption of e-commerce platforms. In 2023, the number of e-commerce enterprises in Indonesia increased by 27.40%. Nevertheless, the adoption of e-commerce remains uneven across regions. In Banten Province, approximately 52% of businesses have integrated e-commerce into their operations; however, the majority of UMKM in Serang Regency continue to operate through manual processes. This limitation constrains their market reach and business scalability. To address these challenges, the development of an e-commerce system is essential to optimize transactional activities among UMKM. Within such systems, databases play a crucial role in ensuring operational continuity by facilitating efficient data storage and management. This project aims to develop a structured data management system to support the commercial activities of UMKM in Serang Regency through the design of a database for an e-commerce sytem. The design process employs the Database Life Cycle (DBLC) methodology and is implemented using the PostgreSQL Database Management System (DBMS). System validation is carried out through a series of functional test scenarios involving Data Manipulation Language (DML) operations. The results indicate that the database effectively supports data management processes and enhances the overall functionality of the e-commerce system.
