Abstract

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is one the causes of health problems in the world. COPD is still a cause of mortality and morbidity of progressive diseases. This study aims to determine risk factors for COPD at age ≥ 40 years in the Johar Baru Health Center area in 2025. This study was conducted using cross-sectional study design with analysis of health examination data from Health Center. Total sample 169 subjects aged ≥ 40 years who underwent a complete health examination to lung function examination using spirometry device. Data analysis was carried multivariate stage with multiple logistic regression tests. Proportion of COPD at age ≥ 40 in the Johar Baru Health Center area was 5.3%. The results of the multivariate analysis showed relationship between indoor air pollution (aPOR = 23.4 (95% CI: 2.7 - 205.9)), having a history of asthma (aPOR = 8.6 (95% CI: 1.9 - 68.6)), and not working (aPOR = 0.14 (95% CI: 0.03 - 0.07)) with the incidence of COPD. The community is expected to maintain indoor air quality by ensuring good air circulation, reducing use of pollution sources such as cigarette smoke, mosquito coils, and burning wood indoors. Minimizing exposure pollutants risk to lung health.
