Abstract
The chassis design is a crucial element in developing energy-efficient vehicles, especially in achieving optimal fuel efficiency without compromising safety and strength. This study focuses on the design and analysis of a Ladder Frame chassis for the Soedirman 2 Urban Concept vehicle developed by the Patriot Team of UPNVJ. The chassis is made of Aluminium Alloy 6061-T6 with a hollow profile measuring 50 mm x 30 mm and three thickness variations to be simulated. The chassis design was created using SolidWorks software, while static load simulations were performed using Ansys software to analyze stress, deformation, and safety factors. The loading scenarios in the simulation include the weight of the driver, body, and engine components, as well as vertical and rollbar loading. The results of this study indicate that the designed chassis meets the strength standards and regulations set for the Energy-Efficient Vehicle Contest (KMHE), with adequate safety factors. Thus, the designed chassis is expected to support the performance of the Soedirman 2 vehicle in achieving optimal fuel efficiency without compromising safety.
