Abstract
Motor nervous system disorders, whether caused by accidents or strokes, significantly impact the daily activities of affected individuals. To receive intensive rehabilitation, patients typically need to visit the hospital daily. By providing passive Range of Motion (ROM) training, which helps stimulate and train the motor nervous system, patients can perform rehabilitation independently at home without needing to go to the hospital. A lower extremity physiotherapy aid equipped with a voice-command-based control system offers a practical solution for individuals with motor nervous system disorders. The development of the lower extremity physiotherapy device begins with identifying user needs, followed by design and development, and concludes with fabrication and testing. The 2-DOF control system, operated through voice commands, performs effectively in rehabilitation exercises. The device demonstrates a maximum stress value of 7.734 MPa, a maximum deformation of 0.31276 mm, and a safety factor of 15. Testing of the control system was conducted over 25 repetitions in both knee and ankle modes, with the results showing a 100% success rate in recognizing and executing voice commands in each mode.
