Abstract
Fishing platforms made of bamboo are simple structures traditionally used by fishermen in coastal and river areas. These platforms are primarily constructed from bamboo with supports standing on the seabed. They have low hydrodynamic efficiency as they are not designed to reduce water resistance or enhance speed. As a solution, a replacement platform in the form of a Delft 372 catamaran equipped with a T-foil has been developed. The Delft 372 provides good stability, while the T-foil reduces wave resistance, improving hydrodynamic efficiency. This study uses Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations to assess how replacing the traditional design affects total resistance, focusing on variations in the T-foil position and NACA profiles. The findings indicate that the Delft 372 catamaran equipped with a T-foil experiences lower total resistance compared to the version without one. Optimizing the position of the T-foil is essential for enhancing the vessel's hydrodynamic performance. This research offers valuable insights into total resistance and serves as a foundation for future advancements in maritime science.
