Abstract
The Indonesian government needs to ensure that the presence of the Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP) can provide legal benefits to society by promptly addressing some of its shortcomings related to the protection of vulnerable groups, particularly concerning the protection of personal data for childrens. This regulation still needs to be continuously improved especially since personal data protection currently references international standards such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Europe and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States. Therefore, there is a need for comprehensive implementing regulations with international standards, especially in protecting the personal data of childrens by emphasizing strict parental verification to avoid exploitation of children's data by personal data managers.
