Abstract
Poverty is a major challenge in many developing countries, including Indonesia. East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT) faces a significant challenge with a poverty rate of 19.96% in 2023, nearly double the national average of 9.36%, ranking as the third-highest among all provinces in Indonesia. Addressing this issue requires targeted government policies that not only reduce poverty but also improve the overall welfare of the population equitably. This study aims to analyze the influence of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), Human Development Index (HDI), and unemployment rate on poverty in NTT. Data were collected from 22 districts/cities over the period of 2014–2023, totaling 220 samples, and analyzed using panel data regression in Stata 17. The findings reveal that GRDP and HDI have a significant negative effect on poverty, while the unemployment rate shows a positive but insignificant effect on poverty in East Nusa Tenggara.
