Abstract

Postpartum preeclampsia is a rare but serious condition that occurs in mothers after giving birth. Postpartum preeclampsia is an increase in blood pressure accompanied by proteinuria in postpartum mothers. Postpartum preeclampsia generally appears after 48 hours after delivery but can also occur up to 6 weeks after delivery. The research method used is an observational method with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study was 212 respondents and the data collection technique was based on purposive sampling. This study used secondary data, namely medical records of mothers who gave birth at Tarakan Hospital, Jakarta in 2024. The results of this study indicate that factors associated with preeclampsia in postpartum mothers are the age of mothers at risk (<20 years and >35 years), parity (grande multipara), giving birth with a gestational age of <30 weeks, having a history of illness, having a history of preeclampsia, and having HELLP syndrome. Education level, type of work, and delivery method do not have a significant relationship with postpartum preeclampsia.
