Abstract

Health Care-Associated Infections (HAIs) are a significant global health concern, including in Indonesia. Nurses, frequently exposed to infections in healthcare settings, play a crucial role in infection prevention dan control. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between motivation and self-efficacy with nurses' infection prevention dan control practices. The sample collection technique was purposive sampling. 135 nurses at Tarakan Hospital, Jakarta, were surveyed using a cross-sectional design. The analysis used univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analysis. Results showed a significant relationship between both motivation (p < 0.05; 95% CI) dan self-efficacy (p < 0.05; 95% CI) with improved infection prevention and control measures. Only gender significantly influenced these practices (p = 0.028). The results of the logistic regression test are the self-efficacy variables that have the most influence on infection control prevention measures (p < 0.05; 95% CI). Findings emphasize the importance of enhancing nurses' motivation and self-efficacy through training and support to effectively combat HAIs.
