Abstract

The exchange rate has a very important role in supporting the stability of a country's economy, especially in the context of international trade. Exchange rate fluctuations can affect the prices of export and import goods, the tendency of exchange rate volatility will affect the performance of international trade which ultimately has an impact on the balance of trade and economic growth of a country. This study aims to see the influence of exchange rate determinants from the monetary policy side including inflation, interest rates and foreign exchange reserves in Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia in 2008-2023. The method used is panel data regression with the best model selected is fixed effect. This study shows the results that partially inflation has no significant and negative effect on the exchange rate, interest rates have a significant and positive effect on the exchange rate, and foreign exchange reserves have a significant and negative effect on the exchange rate in Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia. While simultaneously inflation, interest rates, and foreign exchange reserves have a significant effect on the exchange rate in Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
