Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of social media, economic factors, and humanitarian values on consumer preferences for Pro-Israel products amidst the boycott issue. The Israel-Palestine conflict, which gave rise to the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, serves as the primary context. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method involving 120 students from the Jabodetabek region. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS) to examine the relationships between variables. The results show that social media significantly influences consumption preferences by shaping public opinion and disseminating information. Economic factors, such as consumer expenditure and price factor, play a critical role in purchasing decisions. Humanitarian values serve as the primary driver for supporting boycotts, reflecting moral solidarity and a sense of justice. These findings provide valuable insights for businesses and activists in devising effective strategies to navigate the social and economic pressures of global boycott movements.
