Abstract

ABSTRACT Academic performance is influenced by internal and external factors. Medical students are prone to sleep disorders and poor sleep quality. Effective time management between academic and organizational activities is crucial. Commuting distance also affects students' concentration. This quantitative study aims to examine the impact of sleep quality, organizational activities, and commuting distance on the GPA of medical students. This cross-sectional study was conducted at the Faculty of Medicine, UPN Veteran Jakarta, from October to December 2024. Simple random sampling yielded 118 participants, calculated using Slovin's formula. Data collection employed questionnaires, analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis with Spearman correlation test. Results showed a significant relationship between commuting distance and GPA (p-value < 0.05), while sleep quality and organizational activities had no significant impact (p-value > 0.05). Commuting distance significantly affects the GPA of medical students. Effective time management and strategies to optimize commuting time are essential. Keywords: extracurricular, distance, sleep, students
