Abstract

This research aims to analyze the management of merchandise inventory using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method where the EOQ method is used to determine the optimal order quantity that minimizes total inventory cost. This research was conducted at PT. Bersama Zatta Jaya Tbk by taking samples at its largest shop in Jakarta, namely Gallery Elzatta Pondok Kelapa which is facing problems in stock management. The analysis results show that applying the EOQ method can help companies reduce ordering and storage costs. This method collects secondary data based on interviews and also company inventory data so that they complement each other and provide useful recommendations in managing merchandise inventory, although there are still limitations in the calculations carried out only focusing on one store in 2021 - 2023, so it is hoped that further research will to consider other shops, especially outside Java, in order to provide a more generalizable view of the results.
