Abstract

Financial management is a crucial aspect for a company's sustainability. One critical element in financial management is accurate recording of cash receipts and cash disbursements transactions. This study examines the practices of recording, cash receipts, cash disbursements, and the preparation of the cash flow statement at PT MNC Multimedia Network. The company applies the accrual method in recording transactions, where cash receipts and disbursements are recorded at the time of the transaction, not when cash is actually received or paid out. The company's main cash receipts come from Consumer Cash In, which refers to payments from consumers for services rendered. Cash receipts are recorded using a manual cash receipts journal with Microsoft Excel. For cash disbursements, the company records them using a cash disbursements journal on an accrual basis, such as for the purchase of office equipment or payment of employee salaries. In presenting the cash flow statement, PT MNC Multimedia Network uses the direct method, which classifies cash flows into operating, investing, and financing activities. This research provides insights into the practices of recording and reporting cash flows in the company, as well as the importance of applying appropriate methods to obtain accurate and relevant financial information for .
