Abstract
Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is an avoidable and treatable chronic infectious disease. Pulmonary TB is caused by the bacterium mycobacterium tuberculosis, which spreads through the air from people with TB to others when people with TB cough, talk, or sing. Common symptoms that arise in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis include coughing, coughing up blood, shortness of breath, chest pain, fever, night sweats and fatigue. This scientific work was written to determine the description of Nursing Care for Patients with Pulmonary TB in Fulfilling Oxygenation Needs at Tarakan Hospital. This research uses a descriptive case study to see how nurses handle problems in Mrs. S with pulmonary tuberculosis in meeting oxygen needs at Tarakan Hospital. The main nursing problem that arises is the Ineffectiveness of Airway Cleansing associated with Airway Hypersecretion characterized by the accumulation of sputum. The interventions carried out are monitoring repiration and monitoring effective cough. Nursing implementation has been carried out in accordance with nursing interventions that have been made previously and a nursing evaluation is carried out. After carrying out nursing care for 3x8 hours, gas exchange disorders in Mrs. S were resolved marked by increased oxygen saturation. It is hoped that further research can carry out nursing care in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis properly in order to achieve the desired outcome criteria.
