Abstract
Hypertension is a global cause of death that can attack adolescents. Changes in diet and lifestyle are factors that cause increased blood pressure. Hypertension if it occurs in adolescents will continue into adulthood and will increase morbidity and mortality. This study aims to analyze the relationship between family history of hypertension, nutritional status, sodium intake, physical activity, and stress levels with adolescent blood pressure. The research was carried out at Raflesia Integrated Islamic High School with a cross-sectional research design. The sampling technique was stratified random sampling with a sample of 158 students in grades X and XI. Blood pressure is measured with a digital sphygmomanometer, nutritional status is obtained through anthropometric measurements. Sodium intake using SQ-FFQ, physical activity using IPAQ, and stress level using PSS. Bivariate analysis using chi-square showed that there was a relationship between family history of hypertension (p=0.034; PR=1.189), nutritional status (p=0.014; PR=1.227), and stress levels (p=0.000; PR=1.073) with blood pressure in adolescents. Meanwhile, there was no relationship between sodium intake (p=0.585; PR=1.038) and physical activity (p=0.740; PR=0.932) with pressure in adolescents. Respondents are expected to be able to control factors that trigger an increase in blood pressure and live a healthy lifestyle.
