Abstract
The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which took place from 2020 to 2022, highlighted the vital role of the Armenian diaspora in supporting Armenia across various dimensions. This research aims to analyze the extent to which the support from the Armenian diaspora influenced the Armenian government's ability to handle the conflict. Using theories of public diplomacy and diaspora engagement, the study adopts a mixed-methods approach. This approach includes qualitative data analysis from secondary sources such as academic journals, writings that include data on the Armenian diaspora, and information from the official Armenian government websites, as well as quantitative data from financial contributions and diplomatic records. The findings of this research indicate that the lobbying efforts and political advocacy by the Armenian diaspora successfully secured significant diplomatic support for Armenia. Economically, the diaspora provided substantial contributions through remittances, investments, and humanitarian aid. Socially, they managed to shape international public opinion through campaigns and cultural activities, while intellectually, they offered strategic insights that strengthened the Armenian government's approach to the conflict. Additionally, the mobilization of human resources by the diaspora also provided direct assistance in Armenia. This research offers a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics between the Armenian diaspora and the Armenian government, demonstrating the significant impact of the diaspora's multidimensional support on the government's ability to manage the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
