Abstract
This research aims to determine and explain the implementation of advocacy journalism in Project Multatuli coverage in the #PercumaLaporPolisi reporting series using the critical discourse analysis method modeled by Teun A. Van Dijk. The method used is descriptive qualitative using data sources from 5 news documents of the #PercumaLaporPolisi reportage series published online. The data analysis technique used in this research is the Van Dijk model of discourse analysis, with three dimensions of analysis, namely text, social cognition, and social context. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach to see how discourse is formed in the news under study. The results of this research show that six elements of advocacy journalism can be found in the #PercumaLaporPolisi series covered by Project Multatuli using Teun A. Van Dijk's critical discourse analysis. Journalists carry out advocacy journalism by emphasizing serious problems, namely sexual violence and human rights violations, prioritizing marginal issues, focusing on the statements of victims or eyewitnesses as the main sources rather than the police, highlighting abuses of power by the police, and giving rise to polemics that gave rise to demands for strengthening the rights of ordinary people.
