Abstract
When the ship moves, the ship can experience six degrees of freedom. These movements are surge, sway, heave, roll, pitch, yaw. In addition to experiencing a six-degree movement, the ship can also be influenced by the direction of the wave. The Response Amplitude Operator (RAO) is defined as the ratio of the amplitude of the ship's movement (translation and rotation) to a particular frequency wave amplitude. The higher the RAO, the greater the shock that will be felt on the ship. The research was carried out with the addition of variations of the NACA type on monohull ships and landings. The research uses the software maxsurf modeler and rhinoceros to perform modelling on monohull ships and landings. In addition, the AQWA ansys software is also used to obtain RAO values. From the simulation that has been done, the armor on the ship model can influence the RAO value. The armor model has a smaller RAO rate compared to the monohull model. This can be seen from the reduction in RAO that occurred in the armour model heave movement by 23% and pitch movement by 25.2% compared with the Monohull.
