Abstract
This research was carried out with the aim of analyzing the impact of water pollution at shipyards X, Y and Z and testing each required parameter using the method of taking water samples and then testing them in the laboratory. The shipbuilding industry uses several types of chemicals and lubricants which play a role in water pollution around shipyard waters. The main objective of this research is to identify chemical compounds that have the potential to have a negative impact on the environment and evaluate the level of water pollution from shipyard operations. The water sampling method was carried out at three shipyards at close intervals to monitor the concentration of several pollutant parameters, such as oil, heavy metals and other chemicals. These three samples were tested in the laboratory using methods according to standards that are generally used. The results of the analysis will provide an overview and understanding of the impact of shipbuilding industry work on the surrounding environment. It is hoped that the implications of this research can provide input, suggestions and solutions to shipyards for managing the surrounding water and waste generated from the dock area.
