Abstract
Ablution is an important ritual in Islam that is performed before praying. The comfort of the ablution process is an important factor for praying solemnly. However, the design of ablution places that are common in the community has not fully implemented the comfort aspect. This research aims to apply Quality Function Deployment (QFD) to develop an ablution station design by accommodating user needs with the required technical specifications. The research started by collecting Voice of Customer (VoC) through surveys and interviews to identify user needs related to ablution comfort. The data obtained were analyzed and entered into a House of Quality (HoQ) matrix to determine the priority of needs and develop relevant technical specifications. The results showed that water temperature, water pressure and aerator shape are factors that affect ablution comfort. In testing the prototype Ablution Unit, Aerator type W, type X, type Y and type Z were obtained, from the four types of Aerators, it was found that Aerator type W is the best type of Aerator because it has a more even water distribution value and creates a centralized water flow with a flow velocity of 4.328 m/s in the simulation using Ansys software, While for water temperature and water pressure, the best are normal water temperature (25-30°C) and standard PDAM water pressure (0,5-3 bar), respectively.
