Abstract
Economic growth is an important indicator of economic development and development in a region. Economic growth is an indicator of increasing community prosperity and welfare through development carried out by policy makers in the region. Economic development in an area is a process carried out to manage the resources found in that area optimally. Indonesia is one of the countries in the Asian region that has large economic growth. Riau Islands Province is included in the province with the 5th largest economic growth compared to other provinces on the island of Sumatra. Being in the outermost region of Indonesia, the Riau Islands Province has the advantage of increasing economic growth. This research aims to see the influence of the variables education, unemployment, poverty, and inflation on the economic growth of districts/cities in the Riau Islands Province for the period 2010-2022. Secondary data is a type of quantitative data used in this research through the website of the Riau Islands Province Central Statistics Agency. This research uses the STATA 17.0 tool with the Multiple Linear Regression method. The research results show that the education, unemployment, and poverty variables have a positive and significant effect on the economic growth of districts/cities in the Riau Islands Province, while the inflation variable has a negative and insignificant effect on the economic growth of the districts/cities in the Riau Islands Province. Simultaneously, the variables education, unemployment, poverty, and inflation influence the economic growth of districts/cities in the Riau Island Province.
