Abstract

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency intervention for cardiac arrest victims to restore respiratory function and blood circulation. High school students, as lay helpers, play a crucial role in saving these victims and thus need good knowledge and a positive attitude towards CPR. This research aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes of high school students towards CPR in DKI Jakarta. This research used a cross-sectional design with a sampling technique in the form of purposive sampling, involving 280 respondents from two public high schools in DKI Jakarta. Data analysis was conducted using the Spearman Rank Correlation test with a significance level of α = 0,05. The study results indicate no significant relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes of high school students towards CPR, with a p-value of 0,619 (p > 0,05) and r = 0,030. These findings suggest schools should provide health education on Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR to enhance students' knowledge and attitudes towards CPR.
