Abstract

Osteoarthritis genu is a degenerative condition that generally occurs during the aging process. Osteoarthritis Genu is a disorder of joints that tend to be actively moving. and weight-bearing joints This disease is a chronic condition that develops gradually, characterized by inflammation of the joint cartilage and synovial membrane, resulting in symptoms such as pain, stiffness in the joints, decreased muscle strength, and even decreased mobility. At one time, this disease was classified as a natural part of aging because the incidence increases with age. Objective: to determine the implementation of physiotherapy in cases of Bilateral Osteoarthritis Genu With the administration of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), Ultrasound and Exercise Therapy in reducing pain and increasing the range of motion of the knee joint, as well as increasing the MMT of the quadriceps. Method: this study uses a case study method with one sample of bilateral osteoarthritis genu patients. Treatment was carried out 6 times within a period of 3 weeks. The measuring instruments used were VAS, Goniometer and MMT. Results: The results of the evaluation obtained after the intervention of tens, ultrasound and exercise therapy were an increase in muscle strength and range of motion of the joints and a decrease in pain. Conclusion: Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), Ultrasound and Exercise Therapy can reduce pain and increase the range of motion of the knee joint and increase muscle strength..
