Abstract

The commercial relations of a country with other countries can lead to the development of the country's economy, which is seen in the form of goods and services produced by export activities. Indonesia's large sea area makes Indonesia a country with great opportunities for shipping and fishing. This study was conducted to determine the effects of exchange rates, international fish prices, number of fishermen and fish production volume on Indonesia's fresh fish exports to Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and China. This study uses data on the value of Indonesia's fresh fish exports to Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and China from 1991 to 2021. The data used are secondary data from the World Bank, Central Statistics Office and CEIC, obtained from the Economic Laboratory of UPNVJ. Panel data regression analysis with STATA 14 program is used to test the hypothesis of this study. The results of the study show that (1) exchange rate does not have a significant positive effect on Indonesia's fish exports to Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and China (2) International fish prices have a significant negative effect on Indonesia's fish exports to Japan. Malaysia, Singapore and China (3) The number of Indonesian fishermen has a significant positive impact on Indonesia's fish exports to Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and China. (4) The amount of fish production does not have a significant positive effect on Indonesia's fish exports to Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and China.
