Abstract

HIV testing coverage among pregnant women in the PMTCT at Tugu Depok Health Center in 2023 is still low (18.98%). Kemenkes RI has required all pregnant women to be tested for HIV at least once during ANC at the first visit. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the factors that influence mothers' participation in HIV testing at Tugu Health Center. This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional study design. The sample size was 106 respondents using a questionnaire as the data collection instrument. The results showed that 55.7% of respondents did not conduct HIV testing. Multivariate results show that the factors that influence HIV testing are perception (AOR = 4.483), occupation (AOR = 8.409), husband's support (AOR = 10.943), and health worker’s role (AOR = 10.273). It can be concluded that perceptions, occupation, husband's support, and health worker’s role influence mothers' participation in HIV testing. Husband’s support was the most influential factor in this study. Therefore, counselling is needed to increase mothers' knowledge about the importance of HIV testing, as well as involving the role of husbands in accompanying and reminding mothers to take HIV tests and actively discussing with health workers about the development of maternal pregnancy.
