Abstract

This research focuses on a CONN Holder Cover product in PT XYZ, an injection Molding company. The aim of this research is to implement quality control on the product by analyzing factors and providing improvement suggestions. The Six Sigma DMAIC method is used. In the define stage, 6 critical to quality (Critical To Quality) items are used. In the measure stage, it is shown that Short Shot and Undercut are the most dominant types of defects based on Pareto analysis. A Sigma Value of 5.25 and a Cp Value of 1.12 are obtained. In the analyze stage, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) are used to identify the root causes of dominant defects based on human, machine, method, and material factors. Two factors from each type of defect are found to be above the critical value and are prioritized for improvement. In the improve stage, 7 improvement suggestions are provided to PT XYZ. 4 suggestions have been implemented in PT XYZ, resulting in a decrease in the number of defects. This is evidenced by an increase in the Sigma Level. In the control stage, an increase in the Sigma Level Value to 5.41 is obtained. This shows an increase of 0.16. In addition, a Cp Value of 1.34 is obtained after improvement.
