Abstract
Sexual harassment against children still occurs in a kindergarten in Tangerang District such as patting or poking the buttocks, forcibly hugging, opening each other's pants, and peeping at other children while in the toilet. This study explores the phenomenon of child sexual abuse in a kindergarten in Tangerang Regency in 2024. This research used a qualitative method. Data were collected using in-depth interviews and observation. The informants in this study were the principal, teachers, and parents at Kindergarten X in Tangerang Regency. Triangulation was conducted on methods and sources. The results show that several factors are causing sexual harassment in Kindergarten X, including the lack of knowledge and awareness of teachers and parents regarding sexual harassment, the lack of parental supervision of children's exposure to electronic media. In addition, the lack of a security system and the merging of toilets at school, as well as the role of peers who introduce inappropriate behavior in the home and school environment can also be a factor in causing sexual harassment to occur in Kindergarten X. Schools and teachers are expected to improve communication with parents about children's behavior at school through daily reports, increase supervision in the toilet area for children who want to urinate. Parents are expected to be able to provide supervision of the use of gadgets to children.
