Abstract

In the manufacturing industry, every company is required to produce products that are appropriate and can meet consumer expectations and satisfaction. This encourages companies to continue to improve the quality of the products they produce. This study focuses on the analysis of quality control at PT XYZ in the production of top to cowl braces, where this product has a defect rate that is still above the company's tolerance limit. Therefore, the study was conducted to minimize product defects that occur using the Six Sigma DMAIC method. The Define stage uses CTQ identification. The Measure stage uses a Pareto diagram to determine dominant defects, a control chart to determine control limits, and a sigma value calculation of 4.2971. The Analyze stage uses FTA and FMEA to find out the causal factors in more depth and determine the priority of defects. The Improve stage uses the 5W + 1H method to produce improvement proposals. There are several points of improvement proposals that are implemented in the company. The Control stage carries out implementation and produces a sigma value after implementation of 4.4141. From these results, it is known that the sigma value has increased by 0.117, which means that the implementation results used have an effect on reducing the number of defects and improving product quality at PT.XYZ.
