Abstract

The sovereignty of a country can be assessed from the complete ALUTSISTA owned by the country's own defense. With so many islands in Indonesia, Indonesia's defense system must have adequate ALUTSISTA. One of the ALUTSISTA needed is a patrol boat. The number of patrol boats in Indonesia with the planing hull type. Planing hull itself is a ship with a fast ship type. This fast ship has a froud number range ≥ 0.2. This study aims to determine the value of resistance between planing hull bare, planing hull with spray rail deflector, and planing hull with petestep water deflector. The method used in this research is CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) method using Ansys CFX software. The results of the study were carried out with a froud number range of 0.36; 0.45; 0.54; 0.63; 0.73; 0.91. This study shows that the use of spray rail deflector and petestep water deflector greatly reduces drag by 5% compared to just using a bare planing hull.
