Abstract

Interpersonal communication has a significant effect in influencing others. Effective communication allows psychologists to better understand the experiences, feelings, and thoughts of their clients. Interpersonal communication is a key element in forming deep relationships between psychologists and clients, as described in social penetration theory. Psychologists communicate with clients using an emotional approach, adapting various psychological methods in the counseling process, including Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and meditation practices. All of these methods can help clients recognize their own communication patterns, which influence their self-esteem. Interpersonal communication not only supports effective counseling processes but also is a key element in forming deep relationships. This approach has proven effective, as clients show improved self-esteem after undergoing counseling for 5-6 months, reflected in increased self confidence. Through regular counseling sessions, clients can manage stress and become more mindful of their mental and physical health.
