Abstract

Palm oil processing is one of the important stages in making palm oil a valuable commodity in Indonesia. The palm oil processing process starts from harvesting, followed by crushing the palm kernels, removing the oil from the seeds, refining and distributing the palm oil. In this way, research into the selection of the rotating shaft used is also important. S45C Steel and Aluminum 6061 are materials that are often used to make rotary shafts, so a comparative analysis is important to carry out to find out which material is most recommended as the material for the rotary shaft of palm oil hulling machines. This comparative analysis was carried out using simulation using Ansys and Matlab software to see deformation, equivalent stress and fatigue life with transient structural and static structural modes in Ansys and mechanical vibration displacement with Simulink mode in Matlab.
