Abstract
The development of cyberspace provides limitless opportunities and generates both risks and challenges to the safety of all countries in the world. The development of information and the use of information communication technology have also seen a significant increase in internet access in Pakistan. However, with the increased opportunities from ICT development come increased threats in cyberspace, such as hacking, serious and structured cybercrime, cyber extremism, and cyberwarfare. Pakistan has become one of the target countries for cyberattacks by other countries, especially India. India, with its advanced cyber capabilities, has been targeting Pakistan's digital infrastructure for years, exacerbating geopolitical tensions. Pakistan and India in the past few years have also been seen in the arena of cyber warfare. Threats like the Pegasus spyware used by India also point to serious espionage risks. Cyber and nuclear security are intertwined in the South Asian region, with the risk of cyberattacks on nuclear infrastructure that could trigger nuclear escalation. This research aims to discuss the cybersecurity policies taken by Pakistan in dealing with cyber threats during the reign of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The concepts used in helping this research are the concepts of cybersecurity and cyber policy. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method by explaining how Pakistan's cyber security policy related to cyber threats with secondary data sources. The results of this study illustrate that Pakistan through cyber security policy regulates through legal certainty, cyber organizational structure, technical and procedural measures, capacity building and international cooperation. Although in dealing with cyber threats, Pakistan's policies still have challenges that must be overcome, especially in terms of coordination, awareness and effective response to cyber threats.
