Abstract

Introduction. Informed consent is an important thing to do before taking medical action and for people with mental disorders there are differences in giving informed consent, related to the existence of disabilities in people with mental disorders whose nature can change but there are no clear operational standards for implementing informed consent. people with mental disorders. Method. In this research, data was obtained from a literature review sourced from Google data and Google Scholar. Results. The research obtained in this study is based on normative jurisdiction regarding informed consent based on books, journals, literature reviews from Google and Google School data for the search period between 2013-2023. Conclusion. Until the enactment of Law 17/2023 concerning health, there was no standard operational procedure for providing informed consent to people with mental disorders which could have legal consequences.
