Abstract
The Kanjuruhan tragedy has had a significant impact on many parties, with Indosiar as the broadcaster of the BRI LIGA 1 matches being one of the affected parties. The numerous attacks in the form of insults or negative comments received on the Instagram account @indosiar and the loss of public trust have led to a crisis for Indosiar. This research aims to provide an explanation or overview of the utilization of social media as a form of crisis management strategy implemented by Indosiar to respond to the crisis resulting from the Kanjuruhan tragedy through the Instagram account @indosiar. This research adopts a qualitative case study approach, involving in-depth interviews as the method of data collection. In this study, the Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT) is used as the theoretical framework. The findings indicate that Indosiar utilizes social media as a form of crisis management strategy by utilizing features such as reels, posters, feeds, and Instagram stories to convey clear information to the audience. Indosiar also implements Coombs' crisis management strategy, wherein denial and bolstering strategies are employed to address the crisis impact resulting from the Kanjuruhan tragedy.
