Abstract
Background: Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The high prevalence of tuberculosis cases in Indonesia is 969,000 cases, this figure is up 17% from 2020, namely 824,000 cases. The tuberculosis death rate reached 150,000 cases, an increase of 60% from 2020 when there were 93,000 deaths due to tuberculosis. This research was conducted to analyze the application of nursing care, nursing interventions, nursing implementation, and nursing evaluation to prevent complications of Pulmonary Tuberculosis. Research method: This research uses a descriptive research method with a case study approach on pulmonary tuberculosis patients at the Depok City Regional Hospital. Data collection was carried out by means of interviews, observation, documentation and physical examination. Results: The results of this research showed that the nursing problems that emerged in the cases were ineffective airway clearance, nutritional deficits, and knowledge deficits. The main nursing action to be implemented is to carry out effective coughing exercises. Nursing evaluation is accomplished with established goals and criteria. Conclusion: The application of nursing care to Ms. T with pulmonary tuberculosis, especially the problem of ineffective airway clearance nursing, can be resolved with effective cough training interventions.
