Abstract

South Tangerang is experiencing development across various sectors. A significant number of drivers pass through the city from different directions, leading to a situation where many are unaware of the nearest gas station to their current position, especially when their vehicle fuel is running low. To address this issue, the author has developed an Android application for guiding users to the location of gas stations, employing the Location Based Service (LBS) method. The primary objective is to simplify the process for drivers in locating the nearest gas station relative to their position. Location Based Service (LBS) is a concept centered around accessing locations via mobile devices through cellular networks. This application is a mobile app designed for the Android platform, utilizing the Google API in its development. In the location-searching process, the application relies on the Google API. Additionally, during the search, the app utilizes location data from the Global Positioning System (GPS). The anticipated outcome of this Android-based smartphone application developed using the Location Based Service (LBS) method is to provide valuable information to motorists regarding the nearest gas station's location based on their current position.
