Abstract

To maintain health and sustain life, it is necessary to fulfill basic needs, which include all components that maintain the balance of the body and mind. One of these needs is sleep. Everyone, whether students or workers, must have good sleep quality to avoid fatigue. The condition of insufficient sleep is often found among students and can lead to excessive mental workload or stress. Each learning session at the university brings a workload perceived by students. This study aims to analyze the influence of workload and sleep quality on the academic performance of students at the Faculty of Engineering, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta. A total of 258 students participated as respondents to fill out the NASA-TLX, PSQI, and academic performance questionnaires. The results of the study using the NASA-TLX, PSQI, and Academic Performance questionnaires revealed that the relationship between workload and academic performance has a value of -0.439 < -0.1222, sleep quality and academic performance have a value of -0.451 < -0.1222, workload and sleep quality have a value of 0.615 > 0.1222, and workload and sleep quality on academic performance have a value of 0.496 > 0.1222. Therefore, it can be understood that as workload increases, sleep quality deteriorates, and academic performance declines.
