Abstract
This research examines the Roleplayer phenomenon in the Seme Uke Roleplay promotion group (LPM), which utilizes Telegram features as a forum for Roleplay communities interested in playing roles with male virtual characters. This group is unique because its members must have a male virtual identity. The researchers conducted this study to uncover the motives that underlie the Roleplayer in constructing identity and joining as part of the LPM Seme Uke Roleplay group, utilizing the development of CMC theory and Standpoint theory. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method of virtual ethnography with a cyber media analysis approach that includes the level of media space, media documents, media objects, and experience. The researcher collected primary and secondary data using observation and purposive sampling techniques. The results showed that the LPM SEME UKE RP group was established to refer to the issue of marginalized group associations in Standpoint theory. Roleplayers are users who are still searching for self-identity. The main activity in the group is promotional activities as a group culture that supports the interaction process. The motives that most underlie users are sorted from entertainment, personal identity, social integration, interaction, and information. This study found the potential for behavioral changes regarding gender and sexual orientation, which are divided into three aspects, namely feelings, behavior, and mindset. Keywords: Telegram, Roleplayer, Motives, Behavioral Changes, Homosexual
