Abstract
A Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) can be used to characterize a region’s economic state over a given time frame. Being one of Indonesia’s development hubs in the western area, Kalimantan Island is ideally situated for interregional cooperation. Although Kalimantan contributes more to Indonesia’s Gross Domestic Product than the other three Western Region regions do, the island’s development has not improved the country’s economy or the walfare of its citizens. In the five provinces of Kalimantan Island, research was done to ascertain the impact of regional original income, capital expenditure, foreign investment, and domestic investment on gross regional domestic product (GRDP). This study used panel data regression modelling, with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) as the selected model, to analyse data from five provinces on Kalimantan Island for the years 2011-2021. The study’s findings indicate that the gross domestic product (GRDP) of Kalimantan Island is significantly impacted by capital expenditure, not significantly impacted by foreign direct investment, and not significantly impacted by domestic capital investment.
