Abstract

The development of district / city economic growth in Central Java Province is quite stable by looking at ADHK GRDP data. However, some regions in Central Java Province continue to experience low economic growth. Thus, the government should identify potential areas that can play a role in increasing economic growth. One strategy that can be used is to take advantage of the tourism sector, which can play a role in increasing foreign exchange, advancing regional development, and supporting business development and the welfare of local communities. This observation focuses on identifying the impact of the number of tourists, the number of attractions, and the number of hotels on economic growth in 10 districts/cities of Central Java Province. The data source utilized in this observation is secondary data obtained through the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and the Central Java Province Tourism Statistics Publication, taking samples from the period 2013 to 2022. This observation uses panel data regression analysis with the program used, namely Eviews 12. The results of the observation state that the variable number of tourists has no significant impact on economic growth in 10 districts / cities of Central Java Province. Meanwhile, the number of tourist attractions and the number of hotels have a significant impact on economic growth in 10 districts / cities of Central Java Province.
