Abstract

This research is a study of cooperation between the city of Ambon in Indonesia and the city of Vlissingen in the Netherlands with also the city of Darwin in Australia within the framework of sister city cooperation. The cooperation carried out by the two regions has produced many benefits in the fields of education, environment, health, transportation, tourism and also health. This research will examine the health aspect (field), what kind of cooperation has been developed and the reasons for considering the health aspect of Ambon City in its international cooperation structure in terms of paradiplomacy and sister city perspectives. The results of this study explain that Ambon City has met the indicators as a successful sister city implementer and deserves to be used as an example for other cities. As well as, explaining that the main focus of international cooperation carried out by the City of Ambon is in the health sector.
