Abstract
Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is a contagious disease. According to data from the Jurang Mangu Health Center, the most common disease suffered by residents in the area is Acute Respiratory Tract Infection. This study aims to determine what factors are associated with the symptoms of ARI in scavengers. This type of research uses an analytic survey with a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total of 95 respondents. The instruments used are questionnaires, observations and meter rolls. Data analysis using chi-square test and logistic regression prediction model. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (p-value 0.017), house ventilation (p-value 0.044) and indoor air pollution (p-value 0.003) with symptoms of ARI, but there was no relationship between occupancy density (p-value 0.190 ), type of wall (p-value 1.000) and type of floor (p-value 0.741) with symptoms of ARI. Therefore, it was concluded that the symptoms of ARI symptoms in scavengers were influenced by knowledge, house ventilation, and indoor air pollution so that it was hoped that by increasing knowledge about the disease, paying attention to the condition of house ventilation, and reducing air pollution in scavenger residents' homes could reduce the risk of catching ARI.
