Abstract

Rice farming plays an important role in the economy of Purwakarta Regency. The advantages of fertile nature and favorable geographical conditions make Purwakarta Regency one of the 18th largest rice producing areas out of 27 districts in West Java Province. Rice as a staple food for the Indonesian population has long been an important commodity in food security, and West Java Province is one of the main contributors to rice production in Indonesia. In this study, Clustering of Purwakarta Regency was carried out based on harvest area, rice production, and population using algorithm methods. Clustering results show the existence of three clusters that can be distinguished based on the level of harvest area, rice production, and population. Clustering results of Purwakarta Regency using the K- medoids algorithm method and evaluation using the Silhouette Coefficient method showed weak structure results. The average Silhouette Coefficient value is 0.481594647 , which indicates a number of inconsistencies in Cluster formation. Therefore, further research and development of more effective clustering methods may be the focus of future research.
