Abstract
The Ministry of Education and Culture through Puslapdik will guarantee education in Indonesia through KIP Kuliah scholarships that can support students' economy during lectures. At the stage of obtaining the KIP Kuliah scholarship, students who have been declared accepted at tertiary institutions will undergo further verification by the relevant tertiary institution. UPN Veteran Jakarta in conducting verification and selection of KIP Kuliah scholarships is still done manually using Microsoft Excel. That way, the purpose of this research is to implement an expert system using the certainty factor method in selecting KIP Kuliah scholarships in the UPN Veteran Jakarta environment. The criteria used in the selection process include quantitative criteria and qualitative criteria. In this study, 2023 SNBP scholarship participant data was used with a total of 161 student participants. Data from each participant will be calculated using the certainty factor method so that each participant will get a conclusion in the form of a percentage of the certainty value of passing the scholarship. The processing results using the certainty factor method produce an accuracy value of 95.65%. This method was chosen because it can measure certainty such as certainty in selecting KIP Kuliah scholarship recipients so that it can determine optimal alternatives.
